Who We Are
The United Evangelical Episcopal Church (UEEC) is a communion of orthodox Anglicans committed to the historic Christian faith, traditional liturgy, and evangelical witness. Rooted in the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, we uphold the timeless worship, apostolic order, and biblical teaching that have defined the Church for centuries.
Founded in 1977 by bishops and clergy from New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, the UEEC emerged as a faithful response to the theological and liturgical departures introduced by the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. Our mission is to preserve and proclaim the historic faith of the undivided Church, standing firm in the traditions of orthodox Anglicanism while engaging the modern world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our Beliefs
The UEEC holds to:
- The Holy Scriptures as the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
- The historic Creeds (Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian) as faithful expressions of Christian doctrine.
- The Sacramental Life of the Church, with Holy Baptism and the Holy Eucharist at the center of our worship.
- The Historic Episcopate, maintaining apostolic succession as an essential mark of the Church.
- The 1928 Book of Common Prayer, preserving the beauty and theological depth of traditional Anglican worship.
